What is RSS?

RSS or Really Simple Syndication is a useful tool for displaying up to date information on your Web site that has been created on another Web site. The other Web site makes available some data in a special XML format, known as an 'RSS feed', that contains a constantly updated summary of relevant articles. By regularly scanning the 'feed', it is possible to display an up to date summary of the other Web site's articles on your own site.

RSS feeds are typically used with news sites or blogs, although any Web site can use them to disseminate information. When an update is sent out, it includes a headline and a small amount of text, either a summary or the lead-in to the larger story. You will need to click a link to read more.

How does Intergage use RSS feeds?
