Overview
Mike Browne and Jayne Whitlock are people who are passionate about pictures. Mike has been a professional photographer for over 15 years and his partner Jayne spent 15 years as a television producer working on projects for terrestrial channels.
Mike and Jayne had run several websites in the past and used online marketing sparingly. When they realised their need for a content managed website in 2009, they immediately knew who to call and quickly became an Intergage client.
Mike and Jayne have undertaken a large amount of the work creating content for their website themselves, using the Intergage CMS to good effect and saving money in the process.
The problem
Mike Browne first encountered Intergage when he attended a course run by the team focusing on Google Adwords and PPC Management. However, it wasn’t until a year later when Mike encountered problems managing his current websites that he thought to take-up the offer of a content managed website from Intergage.
Mike and Jayne identified the Internet as a great way to sell downloadable photography courses and one-to-one photography tuition. They knew that they would want to be able to update the website themselves and would require a Content Management System. All that remained was for the final piece of the puzzle to be solved how could they set-up, run and market such a website online within a reasonable budget that would ensure a clear Return On Investment?
The Intergage solution

Intergage worked to provide a unique and highly cost-effective solution for Mike and Jayne’s photographycourses.biz by training them in the skills required to produce and manage a website a service that we offer to all of our clients, should they require it.
Initially, the Intergage team produced page design templates for photographycourses.biz within the Intergage CMS. Mike and Jayne were then both given full training in adding and editing content within the CMS and began to populate their new website.

Mike and Jayne used the Intergage CMS to;
- Add pages, text and images
- Add news, articles, photography hints and tips
- Create an online shop for downloadable photography courses
- Produce a website that provided all of the information that interested visitors required and gave them an opportunity to contact the business.
A Web presence that could sell courses online at very little cost per sale was now in place and Mike and Jayne hadn’t had to pay large amounts of money to have the site filled with content by expensive Web Designers. Instead, they had learnt these skills themselves. The final challenge was driving relevant traffic to the website using online marketing.
To overcome this, Mike and Jayne have taken full advantage of the entire Web marketing training offered to subscribing Intergage clients each month. They have learnt how to optimise their website for search engines, getting ranked highly for relevant key phrases. They have also mastered email marketing, social bookmarking, Digital PR and developed their Pay-Per-Click advertising management skills.
Mike and Jayne now not only have a fully-functioning website that attracts high levels of visitors and sales, but they have the confidence to manage their online business themselves. All this safe in the knowledge that the Intergage team is always on hand to help as their Web marketing partner of choice.
