How will Intergage design me a new site?

A unique design

Every Intergage Web site is uniquely designed for each customer. The Intergage team are committed to building elegant, yet functional Web site that are both search engine friendly and easy to manage and update.

Usability

Intergage subscribes to the Nielson philosophy of usable Web site design (see www.useit.com for further information) and incorporates most of these principles in designing every client site. All sites should be designed for the user and this means understanding the audience. We have to understand the answers to two key questions...

  • Why is your audience visiting your Web site?
  • How can we best help your Web site visitors get what they want quickly and easily?

The outside-in approach

The process of looking at your business from the customers' perspective rather than your own is a difficult one for many business people. Often we get so involved and close to our businesses that we lose the perspective of the customer. This is where the Intergage team can help you define your requirements and those of your customers to come up with a site that is truly effective.

The design and build process

After an initial meeting has identified that a customer can benefit from an Intergage Web site, one of the Intergage team will conduct a "Web site Goals & Objectives" meeting. The agenda for this meeting is designed to identify all the key requirements of a Web site, its audience and the return on investment that the customer is hoping to achieve.

Following this meeting, requirements are documented in order to confirm understanding. The document may take the form a PowerPoint presentation or Word document. The suggested content for the Web site is outlined and the customer is helped to identify what assets (pictures, text, video etc.) will be required. From here a design "visual" is produced (artwork that illustrates what the homepage and subsequent pages will look like once the site goes live) for the customer to amend or approve. The customer may request further visuals or amend or approve the design the team has suggested until completely happy with the "look and feel".

The Intergage team will make sure that their customer is completely happy before proceeding to build a Web site based upon the approved design "Visual". Once the site is designed the customer is given access to the Web site during the build process so that they may both understand what content is required and see how their Web site is being built.

This process is designed so that, at any stage, the customer can "course correct" the Intergage team to ensure that the finished result is exactly what the customers expects and wants.
