Before you begin writing a website brief there are five key points that you need to understand fully about the project you are about to undertake. They are;
Your exact needs - what are your objectives for this project, are they SMART?
Budget - do you have a budget in mind? Is your project to be completed in phases, with a staggered budget?
Decision makers - who makes the final decision on purchasing and strategy for this project? If it's not you, should the decision-makers be involved in creating the brief?
Timescales - how quickly do you need your website live? Is this realistic?
Understanding - do you require training in Web marketing or will you be outsourcing the marketing of your website too?
All of these items and what to include in your website brief are covered in our free downloadable guide to writing a website brief.
