Statistics, Statistics, Statistics, on LinkedIn Company Page

You are on LinkedIn. You have created an engaging profile and grown your network of connections. Then you created a LinkedIn Company Page, populating with great content and utilising all of the great features and functions to promote your company and the products and services you offer.

But the question remains. How do I measure success on LinkedIn and what activity is having a positive effect?

Now any digital agency marketer should live and die by the mantra “do, test and review”. Measuring any online activity shouldn’t be optional; by the nature of digital marketing all activity will produce statistics, whether they are good, bad, or indifferent.

The LinkedIn Company Page has a whole plethora of great statistics that, when viewed, reviewed and analysed will clearly and concisely show how valuable and effective your activity (content) and Page on LinkedIn is performing.

For example from my Company Page I am presented with three choices:

  • Page Statistics
  • Follower Statistics
  • Insight

Within Page Statistics I can view a whole range of statistics and results.

  • For last 7 days – page views, page clicks and unique visitors
  • Page Views (six month view)
  • All pages
  • Overview page
  • Careers page
  • Products & Services page

Visitor Demographics

  • Seniority
  • Industry
  • Function
  • Region
  • Company Size
  • Employee

Unique Visitors (six month view)

  • All pages
  • Overview page
  • Careers page
  • Products & Services page

Products & Services Clicks

  • More Info
  • Contact link
  • Special promotions

Within Follower Statistics I can really delve into the detail and explore who the Followers of a Company Page are and what elements they are engaging with.

For last 7 days – new followers, total impressions, update engagement, total number of updates, impressions on updates

Company Update Engagement

  • Clicks
  • Likes
  • Comments
  • Shares
  • Engagement %

Follower Demographics

Seniority
Industry
Function
Region
Company Size
Employee

  • Company Update Impressions (six month view)
  • New followers – by profiles and gained by calendar month

The data and measurement you can obtain here is invaluable, if used. Do you measure and monitor (via a schedule) the content that gets the most engagement. Does day of the week or time of the day have positive and negative effects on engagement? Does regularity or volume of content effect engagement positively or negatively? What content gain followers?
