Industry statistics tell us that nearly 50% of users regularly access the internet using a mobile device. The natural next question would be “do I need a mobile formatted webpage as part of my website?”
My advice, guidance and response would be “What is Google Analytics telling you?”
Within the brilliant tool that is Google Analytics, log into your account and then navigate to Visitors | Mobile | Mobile Devices.
Here it will display how many of your website visitors have accessed your site using a mobile device and what type of OS (operating system) that device uses. E.g. Blackberry, iPhone, Android, Symbian OS etc.
Additionally Google Analytics will show related information; page visits, average time on site and bounce rate specifically for each mobile OS.
Put simply, if the numbers are significant or as a minimum growing month on month, you should consider a mobile formatted template for your Content Management System (CMS).
Here at digital marketing agency Intergage we can advise and suggest best practise and options for how and what to display and use on your mobile webpage. Considering the different mobile OS’s, plus screen resolutions, orientation and size options. As well as advising and assisting with mobile domain registrations.
In short, delivering a really great customer experience when users access your website from a mobile device. A low cost, high return solution for your customers or potential customers. For more information or to find out more please give us a call on 0845 456 1022.
