A Dorset catering equipment company has cut its costs by £12,000 a year after Web training from digital marketing agency Intergage helped put it on page one of Google.
Carford Group Business and IT Manager Steve Donohoe took part in the Intergage 90-day challenge event in April and used the Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) skills he gained during his time as a participant to boost his company's website rankings on Google, Yahoo! and MSN.
Steve's new-found skills have gained Carford page one listings for 70 key sales phrases.

These new improved rankings have saved Carford the £12,000 per year it had previously been spending on Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising to get on page one of Google.
Steve's new SEO skills also gave Carford victory in the 90-day Challenge, in which a selection of Intergage clients from various industries competed to gain the best search engine rankings after training sessions with Intergage experts.
Steve said: "I had never done any optimisation before - only what we thought had been the best thing to do."
He thoroughly enjoyed the 90-day Challenge and was soon hooked by the compelling fascination of SEO: "I optimised the pages myself, the only trouble is...it's becoming a bit of an obsession!"
Steve and his fellow clients were trained in SEO by Intergage Client Services Manager Jim Perren and Internet Marketing Consultant Steve Williams.
